About Village Yoga Ayrshire
I began my Yoga journey in 2004, when I was searching for natural therapies to assist me in coping with the challenges of living with chronic pain.
I will be forever grateful to have found ‘Dru Yoga’, which has transformed my life and helps me to manage my symptoms of fibromyalgia.
I have enjoyed teaching classes in various settings since 2008. These include Health Clubs, the NHS, Renfrewshire Association for Mental Health and Cardonald College. I began Village Yoga Ayrshire in 2013, when I moved to the beautiful village of Symington.
As I continue to increase my knowledge, my classes have grown to become a fusion of Dru Yoga, traditional Hatha Yoga and Qigong.
It is my passion to help others improve their quality of life physically, mentally and emotionally, as this is what my Yoga practice has done for me.
My classes are suitable for all ages and levels of flexibility. Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
Class Style Fusion
Dru Yoga is based on gentle flowing movements, directed breathing, visualisation and affirmations. Energy Block Release Sequences have been carefully designed to release tension in every part of the body, rejuvenating your whole being.
The student of Hatha Yoga gains mastery over their body through practising postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama). This practice increases flexibility, stength and balance. Modifications are always given to suit all abilities.
Qigong (pronounced chi gong) literally means "life energy work". It is a system of self healing that combines slow, gentle movements with mindfulness, to encourage free flow of Qi through our meridians (energy pathways).
The combination of Alison’s energy,
enthusiasm and dedication to her classes will motivate, inspire and energise you.
Classes are well organised and accommodate everyone, allowing each person to work at their own level of flexibility.
Alison's knowledge and teaching will give you a sense of general wellbeing and positivity.
Alison Alan - Prestwick
I have been doing Alison's Yoga classes whilst i have been recovering from a back injury. Alison has been fantastic at giving advice and encouraging me throughout my recovery. I am now feeling stronger and in turn this has helped my pain management and movement.
I would highly recommend Alison's class to anyone in a similar situation and to everybody really, as she has such a lovely way of explaining, reassuring and encouraging all class participants.
Angela Smillie - Kilmarnock
That was a terrific class today! I am loving this style of Yoga and I have been practising the videos you sent me. I enjoy your online classes very much as you are always so positive.

Highly recommend Alison's yoga classes. Having health issues, I was unsure to start with, but I needn't have worried. I have been doing them since last year and feel recharged and chilled at the same time after every session. Alison is very experienced with boundless enthusiasm, very encouraging and empathetic. Your body will thank you!!!

I have been enjoying Alison's Symington classes for almost 5 years.
I joined after a serious ankle break, when I needed to develop some flexibility and balance and generally boost my confidence.
The mixture of Dru Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Qigong is excellent.
The classes are friendly and people can develop at their own pace.
Alison's enthusiasm, expertise, encouragement and guidance provide a wonderful, positive feeling of wellbeing.

Alison is a fabulous teacher, she has a beautiful energy that permeates her classes.
She is very encouraging and offer options in poses depending on level of skill and ability.
Taking her classes online via 'Zoom' has been such a support to me and I am very thankful to her for this, and all she brings to our Yoga Community.
